Portal 2 DLC (finally) coming in September

After waiting not-so-patiently for what seems like a lifetime (4 months!), the first bit of Portal 2’s DLC, a promised release of “summer”, finally has a more definitive release window.

Speaking with Kotaku, Valve’s Doug Lombardi assures us that the content, which includes new maps, leaderboards, and challenge modes, will be released in mid-September.
Quoth Lombardi, “That’s still technically Summer.”

If it weren’t Valve, this wasn’t Portal 2, and it wasn’t free, one might be inclined to be a bit miffed.

Also, the amazing poster seen above is by Valve artist Tristan Reidford, prints of which can be ordered through ThinkGeek.
As an aside, I’d still like to know what’s taking so long with getting Volume 3 of the soundtrack out?

Team Fortress 2 is FREE!

Speaking with the website Develop, Valve’s Robin Walker has revealed that the massively popular, insanely awesome Team Fortress 2 has gone free-to-play, forever and ever (amen).

Good news, surely, for folk who have never played Valve’s lovely little FPS. The new F2P model is split into Free and Premium accounts, the latter being for players who had purchased the game prior to the switch or who have made a purchase of any amount in the Mann Co. Store.

The Team Fortress 2 Free-2-Play FAQ, detailing everything, can be found HERE.

The game itself is fun enough, but the real bonus is the built-in mod adding the motion-tracking features to Half Life 2 (as well as Episodes 1 and 2). Continue reading

(UPDATED) Robin playable in Arkham City, with a catch.

(UPDATE) Hit the drop to see the official first look at Robin in Arkham City straight from WB GAmes/Rocksteady.

Ever since Batman: Arkham Asylum came to be one of the biggest games of 2009, fans have been clamoring for more characters.

While developer Rocksteady last week confirmed that Catwoman would be playable, today brings news that the boy-wonder himself, Robin, will be too.

But, there’s a catch, there’s always a catch. Continue reading

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception E3 trailer is a thing of beauty

I shared this on Tuesday, but I feel like it needs it’s own little space.

The E3 trailer for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is so good as to put any trailer I’ve seen this year, medium be damned, to shame.

November 1st has never been so far away.
